A major component of the spiritual anatomy is formed by the energy centers known as chakras. Sometimes called power center, the chakras are energy cortices that exist in the different levels of the auras. Auras are invisible energy fields -- front and back, top and bottom.

The chakras or energy centers are connected by invisible meridians. These meridians, known as nadis in Sanskrit, act as the "energy pipelines" to circulate prana or internal life force throughout the entire aura and the organs. The chakras are not only entry and exit portals of energy; they also act as software of faculties, intelligences and consciousness.

Functions of the Chakras

  1. The chakras act as switches or keys to access inner faculties, spiritual powers and virtues like will-power, vitality, discipline and constancy, love, benevolence, altruism, creative intelligence, objectivity and practicality, group consciousness, sacrifice and good health.

  2. Some energy centers are utilized by the Soul or spiritual consciousness to control certain physiological psychological functions, including what we call good and bad situations in life, such as good luck or disease.

  3. These power centers regulate vitality, emotional attitudes and mental aptitudes.

  4. These invisible vortices of vibrations and forces serve as transmitters of energy and information within, into and out of the auras.

  5. The energy centers act as energy software and subconscious programs for the proper functioning of the body's organs and systems, thus controlling health.

  6. They are security gates for unwanted vibrations and negative forces, preventing them from entering the energy bodies.

  7. The chakras, and especially the Crown when it is opened and activated, serve as a special portal to uplift the consciousness to the Soul and Spirit.
