Most people have never considered that good health is a virtue. Therefore, I am obliged to declare good health a virtue and one of the most important aspects of spiritual development. All the other virtues are not easy to master and execute without good health. When a person is sick, will-power and vitality are more difficult to maintain even when you know techniques to master them.

He who has good health has hope and he who has hope can do almost anything.

Arabian proverb

When a person has cancer or is in pain, it is difficult to meditate, to cooperate in a team or exercise discipline. It seems that when people are sick, mental and emotional power cease to function properly. Talents and educational degrees aren't that useful when people are bedridden of suffering with life-threatening diseases, so it should be clear that good health is one of the most important virtues. Wealthy people will understand their powerlessness when they are between life and death. Titles, success and money do not mean much in the end. If you have undergone a near-death experience, you will understand what I mean.

You need to respect the law of health and consider the virtue of good health as an important aspect of sustaining success and fulfillment. Most success training only focuses on strategies for acquiring business skills or emotional and mental development, but do not address the maintenance of good health as much-required attitude for success. Humanity has not yet realized this. Vices that destroy health are still acceptable even among some acclaimed brilliant people and physicians.

For example, I know a super-wealthy and successful businessman who had a stroke at age 55 because of over-work, stress and vices and was bedridden with paralysis for many years. He said to me that his millions didn't mean much to him after that. Many other successful wealthy people who have been my clients were the best in their fields, but one day lost their health and were confined to their beds for the rest of their lives. Therefore, I can't over-emphasize the need to take care of your health.

Even many physicians with stressful lives and work still smoke and drink, and some of our well-known scientists and brilliant leaders are not the best examples of this virtue of good health. In fact, good health is not currently a priority of modern education compared to fame, money or career. No wonder many people don't take it seriously until they get really sick, which is often too late.

If I had only...forgotten future generations and looked at the

green things and the buildings and reached out to those around me

and smelled the air and ignored the forms and the self-styled

obligations and heard the rain on the roof and put my arms around

my wife...It's not too late!

Hugh Prather, 20th century American author, minister and counselor

In the search for health and balance, it is wise not to be too preoccupied with success and pushing hard for fulfillment. Rather, true health comes from flowing with a healthy balance between introspection and being self-critical.

In the future, we will see that good health will be treasured and

considered a priceless gift equal to professional success. Good health

will be a demonstration and barometer of spiritual maturity and a high culture.
